R.H.G. Bonnycastle School is a k-6 school in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that has truly embodied the Me to We philosophy this year! Their Polar Pride Leadership team decided on a local and global cause to support and began to take action! Their local actions this year included gathering donations for the Christmas Cheer Board and delivering the hampers to needy families.
For their global action they supported Free The Children’s Adopt a Village development projects overseas. They set a goal of $1000 and almost doubled it by fundraising $1,800 for education projects in Sierra Leone. Their winning photo represents the impact they made locally and globally this year. They also used posters and flyers as a successful advertising tool for their fundraisers and decided to display their year’s work through this medium. They are excited to participate in the We Act program again next year!
R.H.G. Bonnycastle School is one of the winners of our We School photo contest, which means they won floor seats to We Day Manitoba! Learn more about Free The Children and how your school can get involved at www.freethechildren.com/getinvolved/youth/
