We Day Alberta Line-Up Announced!
We’re so excited to announce our line-up of speakers and performers for our first ever We Day Alberta! This year’s group of world-renowned social activists and Juno Award winners will join more than 18,000 student leaders to celebrate social change at the Saddledome on October 24th. (If you’re waiting for the line-ups for Manitoba, Waterloo Region, or Montreal, hang tight – we’ll be announcing them in the coming weeks!)
Hosting the electric crowd will be TV personalities Jessi Cruickshank and Jesse Giddings. Along with international activists and founders of Free The Children, Craig and Marc Kielburger, the line-up of speakers and performers includes:
Mikhail Gorbachev - Former President of the Soviet Union and Nobel Peace Laureate
A performance by ONE DROP, a Cirque du Soleil Founder’s initiative
Chief George Stanley – Regional chief for Alberta for the Assembly of First Nations
Jessi Cruickshank – TV personality, co-host of We Day Alberta
Shawn Desman – Platinum selling, JUNO and MMVA Award winning recording artist
Theo Fleury – Former Canadian hockey player and Olympian
Jesse Giddings – Recording artist and TV personality, co-host of We Day Alberta
Rick Hansen – Canadian icon, gold-medal Paralympian and world-renowned activist
