Partnerships and Pro Bono Services

Free The Children is further able to keep its administrative costs as low as possible through remarkable partners who provide us with valuable in-kind services. We would like to highlight and thank the partners who are especially generous in this way:

Canadian travel provider: The wonderful people at Air Canada Foundation have donated literally millions of aeroplan miles to Free The Children to minimize travel expenses. Their generosity ensures that our staff can host leadership training programs in schools across the country, in addition to providing scholarships for youth to participate in the annual We Day celebration for social change. Free The Children encourages our supporters, in turn, to support the remarkable work of Air Canada Foundation by donating their own Aeroplan Miles for a great cause. Miles can be donated here.

Business consultancy: KPMG LLP in Canada provides Audit, Tax, and Advisory services and is a member firm of KPMG International.  Through their partnership, they have made a commitment to international development and supporting our local communities.  As part of the firm’s Community Leader Strategy, they have embarked on a four-year partnership to contribute their skills to help Free The Children advance.  Each year, KPMG provides Free The Children with pro bono professional services aimed at helping the organization grow, become more efficient and more effective, cementing our reputation as an organization striving for a world where all young people have the freedom to achieve their fullest potential.

Their technologies, expertise and services enable businesses to operate more efficiently and effectively, whatever the situation.  Xerox Canada Ltd. is the official Business Solutions Partner of Free The Children.  Through this partnership, Xerox Canada Ltd. generously provides Free The Children with in-kind support in the form of printers, copiers, scanners, paper and ink service and operations and general servicing support.

In-kind shipping partner: DHL Canada – “Logistics Partner”:  DHL is the global market leader in the logistics industry and “the logistics company for the world.” DHL commits its expertise in international express, air and ocean freight, road and rail transportation, contract logistics and international mail services to its customers. A global network composed of more than 220 countries and territories and about 275,000 employees worldwide offers customers superior service quality and local knowledge to satisfy their supply chain requirements. DHL accepts its social responsibility by supporting climate protection, disaster management and education.  DHL Express Canada is the official logistics partner for Free The Children and Me to We.  As part of its role, DHL will provide value in-kind support from Free The Children and Me to We’s Toronto offices to countries of operation, initially beginning with Kenya and expanding. Through its global network of change drivers, DHL is redefining the logistics of changing the world.  Through the unique partnership, DHL will provide free shipping services, storage and support for several of Free The Children and Me to We’s programs.

Legal services: Torys LLP is a highly respected international business law firm with offices in Toronto, New York and Calgary. Their lawyers work together to offer seamless cross-border services to clients on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border and globally. Torys has supported the goals of Free The Children since its incorporation over 10 years ago.  The firm assisted on the incorporation of the charity and provides pro bono legal advice in a range of areas, including corporate/commercial and intellectual property matters, as well as in making financial donations to the charity.

Creative and Media Services: Based in New York, Universal McCann (UM)  is a global media communication agency using their marketing savvy to create innovative fundraisers for Adopt a Village in Kenya. From initiating a “Donate a Day of Pay” program, to putting up teaser posters, to creating “Free The Children Ambassador” positions, offering incentives for donations and designing custom Me to We: [Responsible Style] tees to create office buzz, Universal McCann has pulled out all the stops for Free The Children.  UM has also been appointed the Free The Children agency of record.
