Free The Children has partnered with Me to We to help generate funds for its ongoing administrative costs. Me to We is a social enterprise that sells socially responsible products and opportunities for individuals to make daily choices that leave the world a slightly better place. Whether it be ethically-made organic clothing, international volunteer service trips for young people and families, inspirational speakers for non-profit and corporate events, or books on the topic of youth leadership, Me to We has created opportunities to allow for social change to be fostered on a daily basis.
Me to We donates 50 percent of its profits on an annual basis to Free The Children, while the remaining 50 percent is reinvested to grow the social enterprise to ensure future stability. Last year alone, this model translated into over $1 million in donations of cash and pro bono services.
Me to We provided cash donations to Free The Children totaling over $400,000 last year. These funds were used to help pay salaries of many of its administrative staff, provide free rent of its main office space, and assist with other administrative costs that otherwise would have had to be financed through general donations. In addition, Me to We donated more than $600,000 worth of in-kind services by way of Me to We team members providing literally thousands of hours of volunteer service each year to Free The Children as well as training, workshops and consulting to important Free The Children projects.
This innovative partnership will help to ensure that one day soon Free The Children’s already very low administrative rate will go down to zero; this is virtually unheard of in any organization of the size and scope of Free The Children. As a result, when donating to Free The Children, your dollar is able to go further and help empower and change the lives of even more children both at home and abroad.
