Interesting fact: Corrine once rode an ostrich for a full minute at an ostrich farm in South Africa. Before doing this, she signed a waiver saying that the farm would not be responsible if she died.

Corrine Viegas joined the Free The Children team in 2009 as a facilitator for the Life in Action program. She aspires to help young people use all their enthusiasm and eagerness to positively affect the world and show that everyone, no matter how old, is capable of creating social change. After a year of meeting the most amazing youth, Corrine decided to strengthen her speaking skills and try and inspire even more young people by becoming a motivational tour speaker.

Growing up in Dubai, she always made it a point to be aware of the realities of poverty affecting countries all over the world—realities she didn’t always witness where she grew up. Travelling to countries in Asia, Africa and South America made her realize that she wanted to dedicate her life to helping people. Two of her passions are volunteering and working with children, and she is always seeking opportunities to do both. Corrine has volunteered with children with special needs as well as on the physical rehabilitation of adults and children with various disabilities. Her calling came to her when she volunteered for two months at the Red Cross Children's hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. There, she met amazing children and dedicated mothers who were always by their sides. She realized then that she was meant to work with these kids, who seemed always to have smiles on their faces no matter what they had been through.

Corrine absolutely loves travelling and getting to know new cultures. She also loves dancing, being with friends and family, laughing and just having a good time. She lives every day following Mother Teresa's wise words that all of us can "do small things with great love.”
