Interesting fact: Drew's irrational fear of pigeons often has her ducking in public places to avoid their germ-covered wings.

Drew Davidson became a member of the Free The Children team in 2008 as a writer and researcher. Having spent the past year working as a chase producer for Business News Network in Toronto, she is excited to use her experience to contribute to a fantastic team that is working to change the world.

Drew graduated from Carleton University's School of Journalism in 2007, minoring in economics and political science. Immediately after graduating, Drew travelled to Rwanda for two months as part of Carleton's Rwanda Initiative. There, she worked at a documentary company and helped produce a five-minute feature about children's toys. The documentary took Drew to a market in Kigali where she met a young boy who made toys out of recycled materials as well as a small village to meet kids who made balls out of dried banana leaves. She even attended a gorilla naming ceremony hosted by Jack Hannah.

Drew is a travel junkie and can't wait for her next trip. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, checking out restaurants around the city and staking out front row spots at concerts for her favourite bands. She also volunteers for two women’s rights organizations and can often be found in their offices or at marches.
