Support the construction of a new clean water project in a rural village overseas. Clean, safe drinking water lets children go to school because they’re healthier and don’t have to walk long distances to collect water for their families.
Contaminated drinking water is one of the major causes of health problems for people in developing countries and the leading cause of death in children. It is also traditionally the job of young girls to collect water from the nearest river each day, which can often result in hours and hours of walking with a heavy load, forcing them to miss school. As a result, the water problem is a significant barrier to education.
Sign up for the clean water campaign and start raising money to build a clean water project in any of Free The Children’s Adopt a Village countries. We’ll send you a campaign kit which includes a step-by-step guide and a wall-size poster to track your fundraising progress.
You aren’t just helping build a new water project—you’re also raising awareness about the importance of clean water for all children.
