Be The Change is a unique school programme designed to engage students in the United Kingdom and motivate them to create a better world. With a focus on the United Nation Millennium Development Goals, students will develop leadership skills and learn about volunteerism and social entrepreneurship as a means of making a positive impact on the world. Students will be inspired to ‘be the change.’ Thanks to the generosity of Virgin Atlantic Airways, the programme is available to schools in the UK at no cost.

The Be The Change programme begins with a motivational speech, followed by a workshop on leadership skills training, giving students tangible tools, tips and direction on becoming active global citizens to support their peers in developing the world.

The programme also includes the following incentives for young people to take action:
30 scholarships awarded annually to outstanding youth. The students with these scholarships will travel overseas to one of the communities in India, China or Kenya and volunteer to build schools while connecting with the people they are helping to support.
