Churning up change at Brussels Public School
The Kids Care group from Brussels Public School is doing amazing things to change the world! You can too!
After reading the book Free The Children by Craig Kielburger two years ago, Jacob McGavin was inspired to start making a difference in the world. Along with a friend, Jacob started Kids Care, a youth group designed to do just that. Now 35 members strong, the Brussels Public School group is committed to raising $20,000 to support a community in Kenya. So far, they’ve almost reached their first goal of building a school through the Brick by Brick campaign.
As if building a school in a developing country wasn’t enough, Kids Care is also working toward saving our environment. They are actively encouraging everyone to start using reusable water bottles and shopping bags.
This year, Kids Care has expanded the campaign by printing and selling canvas bags with their logo on it. To date, they’ve raised over $350 in bag sales for their project and, in doing so, have encouraged their customers to ditch plastic bags for good.
A huge “thank you” goes out to Jacob McGavin, Kids Care and Brussels Public School for the amazing work they’re doing to make a difference. Thanks for being the change you wish to see in the world!
