Hey there, Change-Makers!

We’re so excited for this month’s newsletter! It’s the holiday season, and with it comes spending time with our families and friends, putting up beautiful decorations and sharing gifts with those we love.

But the holidays aren’t our only reason to celebrate in December. On December 10th, countries around the globe will commemorate the creation of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights by the United Nations with International Human Rights Day.

In honour of this tremendous event and the commitment it represents, the theme for this month’s newsletter is a socially conscious holiday season.

This December, bring the message and the meaning of International Human Rights Day home and share it with loved ones by thinking about how our spending habits affect the lives of people around the world. The statistics and stories of human rights abuses in the name of inexpensive goods, tell us that something has to change. Don’t wait to make it a New Years resolution!

Check out this month’s articles for more information on International Human Rights Day, environmentally friendly, sweatshop-free gift ideas and fun ways to celebrate this holiday season while making a difference in the lives of young people around the world.

Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season, filled with inspiration, action and love!
