In love? Give flowers to a stranger!

Love Goes Global

This February, young people are taking love beyond the flower-laden and sugar-packed confines of Valentine’s Day.

From Canada to China to Japan, youth are proving that love is truly about creating friendships with people worldwide. In this issue of Voices International, friendship takes many forms: teaching someone your language, giving flowers to a stranger, devoting 10 minutes to world change and much more!

On March 1, friendship will be seen but not heard as the
Vow of Silence sweeps North America. Standing in solidarity with friends in developing countries, young people will remain silent for 24 hours to help give impoverished children a voice. There’s still time to get involved—check it out!

Stay tuned for the March newsletter, when we’ll be launching the new campaign, Celebrate for Change! Be the first to know—contact us to get a sneak preview.

They say that time is money. So what would people do with 10 free minutes on their hands?

Nearly 6,000 languages are spoken worldwide; half of these are in danger of extinction. On February 21, International Mother Language Day is a time to learn more.

Caring is contagious— especially in the classroom!
