Celebrating Africa

Welcome to another edition of your Voices International Newsletter!

February is a special month in which many countries around the world take the time to appreciate and celebrate the contributions of Africa and its people to the world. To honour the important message of cultural and historical awareness that February holds, this month’s newsletter is full of information about Africa, especially the countries of Kenya and Sierra Leone where Free The Children works.

Check out the links for interesting personal accounts from Free The Children staff members living in Kenya, updates on the state of education in Sierra Leone and a first look at Haramabee, an amazing documentary on Kenya filmed by youth involved in our Directors of Change program.

Understanding and celebrating the variety of cultures that make our world unique is the best way to be a global citizen. This February, celebrate cultural diversity by visiting your local libraries, researching international documentaries and sharing your knowledge with your friends and family—take action toward making this world a better, more inclusive place!

In peace,

The Youth Team
