Do something different with your summer

An outreach coordinator speaks out about beginning a new journey to inspire thousands

Wrapping up our YEAR OF WE!

Summer’s here, change-makers!

School is almost out and we’re all probably dreaming of ice cream, pools and campfires. But, as we begin to wrap up, this is a great time to reflect on all the amazing things we’ve done during this Year of We.

The Year of We began with a bang at National Me to We Day, where young people across North America were inspired to take action on the issues they were most passionate about. Starting Youth in Action groups and taking part in Free The Children campaigns, all of you helped Free The Children to build its 500th school and give more than 50,000 children access to primary education.

Check out the links in this month’s newsletter to learn more about the amazing things you’ve accomplished this year. Find out how you can stay globally active this summer with International Volunteer Trips or our Take Action! Academy. Hear inspiring stories from our outreach coordinator from her travels through North America, and don’t forget to take our survey to have your say on the We Generation!

There is also a very special article dedicated to the people in the Sichuan province of China, who were devastated by an earthquake on May 12. Find out how you can get involved in the Change for China project to help support the thousands affected by the disaster.

As you get ready for summer, remember that global citizenship doesn’t have to stop at the end of the school year. Young people can make a difference all year long; all it takes is the will to change the world!

Keep your passions strong and your actions wise,

The Youth Team
