L’eau, yaku, shouei, ta-neer, maji, H20, water – however you say it, water is what supports all life and growth on earth.
To celebrate this amazing resource, the beginning of spring and World Water Day on March 22, this month’s newsletter is dedicated to water.
Think of the hundreds of ways we use water every day. Whether for brushing our teeth, showering, drinking, cooking, or washing fruits and veggies, we use water throughout the day for some of our most basic needs. It’s difficult to imagine life without it. And yet, around the world two billion people live without access to clean water; some even have to overcome great obstacles to access dirty water that exposes them to all kinds of waterborne diseases.
Check out this month’s newsletter to learn how a lack of clean water affects the communities Free The Children works with and find out ways you can take action to make a difference. You’ll also find cool stories about the “water walk” in Kenya and a special trip a Free The Children regional network coordinator took to Switzerland to share the voice of young people with today’s world leaders.
