This month, more than 100 young people travelled to Kenya, China and Mexico on Volunteer and Leadership Trips with Leaders Today. Craig Kielburger also had a busy summer, visiting participants and Free The Children schools in Kenya and China (above).


Happy mid-summer! We hope you’ve been swimming, relaxing and avoiding chocolate ice cream stains on your clothes.

It may be summer, but a lot is happening at Free The Children.

  • We received many applications from youth to serve on the Free The Children Canadian Board of Directors—thank you so much! New youth board members will soon be announced.
  • Youth coordinators in Toronto are busy creating resources such as how-to guides and fact sheets to help you change the world come fall.
  • Youth are holding lemonade stands and car washes to raise money and continuing their planning for the coming school year.

Keep your eyes peeled for the new Free The Children online community, where your group can have its own web page, chat with youth around the world and more. Coming soon!

Take it easy, enjoy summer and start getting excited for next year. We’ll see you in the fall!
