Alternative Income

At Free The Children, we recognize that parents want to provide for their children but poverty is often a barrier. Through the Alternative Income component of Adopt a Village, we support marginalized women with sustainable sources of income so they can provide their children with crucial opportunities like education.

We offer productive resources specifically tailored to the needs of individual communities. Support includes milking and breeding animals such as goats, cows and pigs, sewing machines for tailoring or business, vocational training and financial literacy workshops.

Donate to Alternative Income

• $50 can purchase goats or chickens for milking/breeding
• $250 can purchase sewing machines and tailoring equipment
• $500 can support small grants or micro-credit loans for families
• $1,000 can support basic literacy and business training workshops for a women’s group
