Each summer, Free The Children partners with Me to We to hold the Take Action Leadership Academies—unforgettable, week-long experiences taking place every year all across North America. This is where the coolest, sharpest kids spend their vacations: doing something that really affects the world.

Along with gaining leadership skills, exploring social issues and learning the real benefits of volunteerism and activism, youth create friendships, have some laughs and make memories that last a lifetime.
The Take Action Academies maximize youth potential as leaders through facilitated discussions and group activities about international issues affecting young people around the world.
Youth interact with each other, and with special guests who share stories about being heroes of social action and engagement. There’s also lots of room for fun: dance lessons, soccer games and arts and crafts.
Programming is best suited to participants aged nine to 21.
The Take Action Academy takes place in five locations:
